How is ‘an inspired building’ designed? How can aesthetics and innovation be ensured, without having to sacrifice thermal and sound insulation requirements? Which factors should be evaluated when choosing the most suitable thermal insulation method? What should an installer consider in order to guarantee the maximum performance of the chosen materials? What knowledge is available to the consultant, concerning high-rise buildings and their fire protection?
These interesting questions were discussed among others in a series of presentations and lectures organized by our company during April and May. Such events are an important part of our company’s policy to inform our customers and associates and to update them on the new industry developments and trends on materials. This year, the events consist also part of our celebrations for our company’s 50th anniversary. Being close to our associates and customers in the building and construction industry and offering our support, is our way of saying thank you.
The lecture «Omnis… Inspired Solutions», that took place on the 24th of April in the Center of Visual Arts and Research, focused on the contemporary metal roofing and cladding solutions. Our guest speakers from Omnis, thoroughly explained the technical characteristics and complete solutions of Omnis, providing the architects with the potential to combine strength, functionality and flexibility in their designs.
On May 16th, we organized a lecture in collaboration with the Association of Consultant Engineers, Electrical, Mechanical and Energy, by the distinguished professor Dr. Agis Papadopoulos, an expert in energy issues. The lecture ‘A consultant’s trilemma: Extruded Polystyrene, Expanded Polystyrene or Stone Wool’, discussed the advantages and disadvantages of each method.
On the 17th of May, a presentation titled ‘Compliance with the new Thermal Insulation rules. Kelyfos & Polytile, Advantages and Installation Methods’, addressed the contractors. Detailed information was given concerning the new laws and regulations as well as full explanation on the correct ways of installation of these two products.
On the 30th and 31st of May two very interesting conferences were organised in Limassol and Nicosia, titled ‘Present and Future of façade design in high-rise buildings. Trends, Developments, and Fire Protection’. These conferences were addressed to architects, and were organized by Elval Colour, the supplying company of the well -known product Etalbond, a company that Epiphaniou keeps a long-term collaboration with.
