Daikin Hellas in collaboration with Phanos N. Epiphaniou Ltd, the exclusive distributor of Daikin products in Cyprus, has been selected to offer a comprehensive energy upgrade solution for the hospital’s air conditioning and ventilation system. The upgrade included the installation of central VRV air conditioning systems, which were combined with the DAIKIN Central Air Conditioning Unit equipped with a direct expansion element (DX coil). The study of the project was undertaken by the company “MOUROUZIDES CONSULTING ENGINEERS” and the completed implementation by the company “ATLANTIS ENGINEERING LTD”
A hospital project is defined by extremely stringent specifications for the construction and operation of the air conditioning system, as the air circulated by the machinery is contaminated with pollutants and germs. Therefore, the main objective of this project was to cover the requirements of air conditioning and ventilation with machines that meet the health standards. Thus, the designed and installed DAIKIN Central Air Conditioning Unit complies with the eleven European sanitary standards.
Another major issue for this, as well as most modern projects, is the limited size available to install the equipment. The Central Air Conditioning Unit as well as the DAIKIN VRV outdoor units are compact, reduced-size with the minimum possible carbon footprint.
